The project WAITING came out of a residency Julia Davis and Lisa Jones undertook with Sydney Trains, facilitated by independent curator Claire Taylor. The work is a precursor to the 3 channel video Thresholds: a chorus.
Since July 2016, they have been exploring some of Sydney Trains’ hidden underground spaces, tunnels and disused sites in the CBD. WAITING is a single channel, immersive video installation that responds to some of the disused spaces that are connected to St. James Station Sydney.
